culture through modern music and movement.

Vanessa Hidary; actress/ spoken word Artist/ poet/ native New Yorker, began writing monologues for herself when she could not find audition material that she felt best represented her. Years later, with a passion for writing, she stumbled onto the Poetry/ Spoken Word scene; fell in love with the art form, and the ability to take her career into her own hands, by casting herself. A year her solo show ³Culture Bandit², was produced by LAByrinth Theatre Company (Artistic directors; Phillip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz). ³Culture Bandit² went on to run at Nuyorican Poetıs Café and the PSNBC space @ H.E.R.E. In March 2003 ³Culture Bandit² was featured as part of the Downtown Urban Theatre Festival. Vanessa recently taped for Russell Simmonıs HBO Def Poetry Jamıs third season.
A graduate of LaGuardia High School Of The Arts and Hunter College, Vanessa later received an M.F.A. in Acting from Trinity Rep Theatre Conservatory. Theatre credits include: ³The Rover²- The Queenıs Company, ³As Bees In Honey Drown²- Dreamcatcher Rep, ³Hyperactive² at Center Stage/NY, Hermia in ³A Midsummer Nightıs Dream²- Trinity Rep Theatre, and Mopsa in ³The Winterıs Tale²- New Jersey Shakespeare Festival.
