Kellmar Gonzales
performs “Good Morning Heartache,” a story about one woman's
twenty-year marriage to an abusive husband and father.
*************************************
Kellmar
was born in Birmingham, Alabama, where rich Southern history was
shared on wrap-around porches by family. Now a professional
storyteller, writer, folklorist, actress and educator, Kellmar’s
stories reflect her African-American roots as well as the stories she
just loves to tell. Her Great-Great Grandmother was an ex-slave
and the winner of a local Cakewalk contest. Kellmar now brings
literature to its feet. She speaks to schools, libraries,
festivals and museums. Her deep contralto voice sounding like
crisp low notes from an aged pipe organ fires one’s imagination and
touches your heart. We welcome her back to this years LAWTF.
