Roxane Butterfly is the only woman and foreign tap-dance artist to win the American Bessie Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement (1998). One of the "25 Best" Dance-Magazine discoveries in 2002, Butterfly is a Fellow Choreographer Recipient of the New York Foundation For The Arts and is the first "hoofer" approved by US Immigration Services as a "Talent of Extraordinary Ability." Quoted as the "Impresario of Tap" by the Village Voice, Butterfly has since danced and taught in West Africa, Sri-Lanka, Korea, England, France, Austria, Germany, Holland, Italy, Slovenia and throughout the US. She recently performed in Israel for a series of Peace concerts as part of the 2nd International Artists Conclave Festival.
