Christine Baltes choreographs the dance “A New Day,” a jazz work that shows the power and strength in a woman’s survival.  Her daughter, Nicole Baltes, dances the piece.

Nicole began ballet training with Judith Watkins at the age of three.  Further studies included jazz, hip hop, and tap with such teachers as Christine Baltas, Leann Alduenda, Suzanne O’Conner, Cruz and Tim Stevenson to name a few.  In the early years, Nicole performed with the Tremaine Teen Company under the direction of Marguerite Derricks and since 1997 has been a soloist/principal dancer with Jazz Spectrum Dance Company.  Festivals include the Spectrum LA, Jazz Dance LA, Jazz Dance World Congress, and the Orange County Performing Arts Center.  Choreographers Christine and Nicole are delighted to be a part of this unique event.
