The Bully” 

A hearing woman born to deaf parents, has achieved national recognition for her works inspired by her life bridging two cultures, deaf and hearing. Here she performs a piece last performed in Los Angeles several seasons ago, “The Bully,” a story of Arlene’s childhood when her deaf mom defended her at the local convent school against the bully of all bullies. The piece was nominated for an L.A. Weekly Award when originally performed several seasons ago.

Arlene Malinowski is an actor, educator, storyteller and has been performing her critically acclaimed solo shows, to critical acclaim in venues across the country and has been honored with numerous Critics Pick, an LA Weekly Award nomination and a Garland Award.  Arlene is also a writer and performer with the nationally touring multicultural show “A Slice of Rice, Frijoles & Greens” which was honored with the White House Award for the Initiative on Race. Favorite theatre work includes: By The Music of the Spheres at the Goodman in Chicago, Solos in Harmony, Lovers and Other strangers at Blue Sphere Alliance.  Credits include Guest starring on ER, CSI, The Division, Any Day Now, The X Files and Diagnosis Murder.
