*************************************
A Brooklyn native and former school psychologist, Stephanie Blum became addicted to comedy after winning New York’s Funniest Teacher contest in 1996.

Stephanie took first prize in the 2002 Ladies of Laughter Funniest Female competition at Madison Square Garden.  She was chosen by HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival to be their 2003 “Breakout Performer.”  On April 30, 2003, Stephanie won Star Search on CBS.  She performed at the Mohegan Sun Casino, the Palace Station and Stardust in Las Vegas.  Most recently she appeared on Country Music Television and HBO’s Comedy Minutes.

When an article about Stephanie’s ‘life-as-a-sitcom’ appeared in The New York Times as well as her recognition as an experienced psychologist, she was commissioned as a contributor to two national publications, Child Magazine and Parents Magazine.  The articles were published as CONFESSIONS OF A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW (May ’03 issue) and LIFE BEFORE KIDS (July ’03 issue).

Stephanie Blum is the ‘apathetic mom next door’ whose trademark laziness and procrastination is sarcastic, hilarious and universally adored by audiences.  Star of Catskills-On-Broadway and Dean of the Friars Club, Freddie Roman says, “She’s spectacular…her material is brilliant and original.”  Ben Stein calls her, “a comic genius” and Ahmet Zappa says her comedy is, “dark and perfect.”

Stephanie has performed at Carolines, The Comic Strip, Stand Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, Governors and many others.  She was chosen for the Toyota Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival and the New England Comedy Festival and most recently auditioned for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
