Morrone "The
Italian in Me" (Theatre)
Dina
takes the audience on her roller coaster ride to her motherland of
Italy, where she tries to find a career as an actor in a foreign
country.
***********************************
Dina Morrone was born into an
Italian immigrant family in Thunder Bay, Canada. Dina stepped on stage
for the very first time at the age of four, when alongside her older
sister, she sang at the local Italian Banquet Hall Annual Christmas
Party for three-hundred very hungry, loud, and distracted Italians!
She’s come a long way since that memorable Sunday and has gone on to
work in Italy, the USA, and Canada, as an actress, TV host, voice over
talent, and writer. While working in Rome, the highlight was a meeting
with the Maestro himself, Federico Fellini, which subsequently became
the inspiration for a portion of her one woman show, The Italian in
Me. It has been performed at The Globe Playhouse, Pepperdine
University, Santa Monica Playhouse, The Italian Cultural Institute in
Los Angeles, Hollywood High School, Highways, The Biltmore Hotel
Crystal Ballroom, Odyssey Theatre, Theatre West, and Diesel Playhouse.
Dina is the
announcer for the Motion Picture Sound Editors MPSE Annual Awards
Show, and the American Motion Picture Sound Editors ACE Eddie Awards.
Her voice over work can be heard in commercials and feature films
including AVATAR, Angels and Demons, 2012, Twilight New Moon, Up In
The Air, and NINE. Dina just completed writing the full-length play,
“Moose On The Loose.” She’s a proud member of Women in Theatre,
Theatre West, ARA(Associated Recording Artists, in Rome, Italy) SAG,
AFTRA, ACTRA, and the Dramatists Guild of America.
