Vanessa Williams wrapped two films in 2008: Paramount Pictures / Nickelodeon Movies “Imagine That” with Eddie Murphy (May 2009) and Lifetime’s “Flirting With Forty.”  Williams received an Image Awards nomination for her performance opposite Heather Locklear in “Flirty with Forty.”

Actor, Writer, Director, Producer – The Brooklyn born actress has become a main stay in Hollywood appearing in film and television.  Her first feature film, “New Jack City,” Vanessa plays Keisha, the gun toting head of security opposite Wesley Snipes.  Vanessa has earned a Daytime Emmy Nomination for her extraordinary work in “Our America” a Showtime original movie; as well as received five nominations and one NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for the portrayal of Maxine Chadway, in the hit Showtime long-running series “Soul Food.”

Some of her credits include Fox TV hit “Melrose Place,” Steven Bochco's critically acclaim television drama “Murder One” and “Chicago Hope” (where she earned again NAACP Image Award nominations), “Mother” playing opposite Lisa Kudrow and Albert Brooks and much more. 

Vanessa is also a talented writer who has written a collection of poetry and prose titled Shine. Her poems and essays have also appeared in Essence Magazine.  As filmmaker, Vanessa, wrote, directed and produced the short film, "Dense," which aired on Showtime Television and is a favorite among film festival-goers.
