Zid
Theatre “Milkwhite- The Ritual of Disguise” (dance/ theatre)
A new production
of Zid Theatre Amsterdam for the 2007-2008 season.
This
multimedia solo performance by choreographer/dancer Tamara Roso,
directed by Karolina Spaic is the story of a dark-skinned woman
growing up in a western society. It is inspired by Tamara’s personal
story; she was born in the Netherlands in the late sixties, the child
of the only “brown family” in a small town in the province of
Noord-Brabant.

ZID Theater
presents multimedia performance theater that is intercultural in
nature and international in its appeal. The emphasis is on physical
and visual aspects.
ZID is a theater
laboratory where the boundaries between theater, dance, visual art and
performance are both explored and crossed. The results are then used
in the shows. The concepts and ideas come from artistic director
Karolina Spaic and are further developed and shaped by authentic
actor’s material and improvisation
The shows are
evolving continuously. During rehearsals, a theater language is being
developed that can be communicated universally and internationally,
bearing in mind that “theater is communication”. ZID Theater
devises its own training and working methods that are also taught at
public workshops. ZIDLab
Basic concepts
such as mobility and communication lead to frequent performances
abroad. So far, ZID Theater has presented shows in Denmark, Great
Britain, Colombia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Russia,
U.S.A, and many other countries.
