one-woman comedic theatre piece about owning Puerto Rican identity and
fear with a disco theme.

Ruth is a native
New Yorker and a graduate of New York University, Tisch School of the
Arts. She has studied
acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory and The Atlantic Theatre Co.
She had the honor of studying with Stella Adler and Bobby
Lewis.
Ruth was chosen by
Variety Magazine as one of the 10 Comics to Watch in 2002 for her
second self-written, one-woman comedy “Dancing With My Demons”.
She performed it in New York (The Nuyorican Poet's Café, The
Duo Theatre, P.S. NBC), Los Angeles (The Laugh Factory, The Ford
Amphitheatre) and in a kickboxing ring in Thailand.
In 2004, her latest and most personal show “OOOPS! I Killed
My Mother” had its East Coast Premiere at the New York Fringe
Festival after a successful Los Angeles run in 2003. Ruth is currently developing a new solo show tentatively
titled Courting Ruth. In
her spare time she appears in commercials, teaches ESL and conducts
workshops on how to create and produce a one-person show.
