This
moving one-woman show seeks that place between black and white where
Nafeesa fits in.

At age 10 Nafeesa
made her acting debut with the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre and has
never left the stage. In Los Angeles, she studied with Martin Barter (Meisner
Center) and has starred in the features A State of Mind, The Truth, The Pain, The Sacrifice and the short film
Unwelcome, receiving a Best Actress nomination.
She has had supporting roles in the award winning features
I’m Through With White Girls, and Naked Brown Men.
She also co-starred on television shows like Martin, The Parkers,
Jamie Foxx Show, and recurred on The Bold and The Beautiful.
Her Los Angeles theatre includes Michael Ajakwe Jr.'s Company
Policy and an award winning performance in Levy Lee Simon’s Trilogy
For the Love of Freedom. On
Off-Off Broadway in New York, Nafeesa originated the role of Sheyla
Duvall in John Mailer’s world premiere of Hello Herman.
Also a successful international spoken word artist, she has
opened for Jewel and appeared on HBO’s Def Poetry.
