God, family, enemies, and the power of language.
***********************************
Erica Lann-Clark
began life in Vienna in 1938. Her
family escaped death by running to Czechoslovakia, then France, then
Cuba, then Brooklyn. There,
in a tiny yellow kitchen, her immigrant mama and papa spun tales of a
vanished world - and Erica conceived a passion for storytelling.
Now,
years later, she tells the story: of her life, her search for meaning,
and the high comedy of German-Jewish reconciliation.
Shopping For God is a fiercely funny and critically acclaimed
solo show about God, family, enemies and the power of language,
directed by David Ford and performed by Erica Lann-Clark.
