"The
Lindz"
A slam poet’s cutting edge spoken
word view of the word, love and her innermost self through performance
poetry.
*************************************
Lindsay
Halladay, AKA The Lindz, has been writing and performing her original
material since the age of thirteen.
It was not until she debuted her lyrical one-woman show, Humaniterrica,
to sold-out audiences, that she realized her predilection for
performance poetry. Out
of the Rutgers University poetry phenomenon, Verbal Mayhem, The Lindz,
along with three another Mayhem-ites formed Mayehm Poets.
Together, they toured the nation and began teaching poetry to
students of all levels. On
the solo tip, The Lindz has been taking the East Coast, and now the
West, by storm – featuring at The Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican
Poet’s Café, Bar 13, Makor at the prestigious 92nd St Y
(funded by Steven Speilberg), Urban Erotica at The Triad Theater in
NYC and Temple Bar, Zen, Room 5, Da Poetry Lounge and Spoken Funk in
LA. Her work has also
been featured at the Tony-award winning Crossroads Theater in New
Brunswick, NJ, where she won an Emerging Artist’s Award.
She is also featured in the award-winning, critically acclaimed
hip-hop documentary, Graffiti
Verite.
Halladay
received two degrees, English and Theater Arts from Rutgers
University. Theater
credits include Joan of Arc in the Off-B’way premiere of The
Lark, In-Pieces at The
Arthur Seleen Theater, Sylvia,
Baby with the Bathwater, and Cheryl in Still Life. The Lindz
currently resides in Los Angeles and studies under actor/coach Brad
William Henke.
Halladay
was also invited to perform at LA’s Theater
of Not’s 12th Annual Hollywood Performance Marathon.
