A quirky Chinese-raised Muslim girl’s quest for social acceptance is thwarted by her immigrant mom.

Ms. Lwin graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Media Communications and a minor in Theatre.  Before making the leap into acting, she began learning about the business by working for Julie Madison in the casting office of  ABC’s soap opera LOVING and Ken Slevin at CED Agency, both in New York .  After moving to Los Angeles , she continued work in casting for Mali Finn and Mary Jo Slater.  This lead her to assist producer, Alexandra Milchan, while GOODBYE, LOVER directed by Roland Joffe (THE KILLING FIELDS) was in production for New Regency Productions (MR. & MRS. SMITH, FIGHT CLUB, LA CONFIDENTIAL) before being promoted to a creative associate. After, she was hired by producer, George Linardos' (THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT), to work for Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films.  Then, she spent several months working for Gil Cates (producer of the ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS) at Geffen Playhouse before pursuing acting full time. She has studied with renowned acting teacher Larry Moss as well as Michelle Danner, Jean-Louie Rodrigue, Patsy Rodenburg, Kevin Quinn, Brian Drillinger and Julie Amato. Lwin developed SLANTED at the Larry Moss Studio and it premiered at Hudson Mainstage in 2003 and she continued performances in About an Hour of Your Time at the Thousand Oaks Fringe Fest, MagnaCarta Theatre Company Late Night Shows“ at The Complex, Kaleidoscope series at Edgemar Center for the Arts, 15 Minutes of Fem at The Egyptian Arena Theatre and in Cabaret Festival at the Whitefire Theatre. This summer, SLANTED will be performed at the New Filmmaker Series in New York . Her other acting credits include Tori Spelling’s upcoming TV show, SO NOTORIOUS, ALIAS, the upcoming film MINI’S FIRST TIME directed by Nick Guthe and starring Alec Baldwin, musical short films PHONE BOOK and VALIDATION directed by Kurt Kuenne, THE BOX for the 48 Hour Film Project and STRINGERS which premiered at the Flicks on 66 Festival.
