Psalmist Ruth Andrea Featherstone a native of Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania and the daughter of Reverend and Mrs. Houston E. Featherstone, Sr., began singing at an early age at Green's Temple Church of God in Christ.  She is a graduate of Langley High School in Pittsburgh , PA.   During her academic years, she performed with Langley 's Femme-Fatels, Jr. Varsity, Sr. Varsity Choir, and Pittsburgh 's All City Choir. Ruth received her vocal training from Pittsburgh 's Center for Musically Talented Students and from the late World-renowned vocalist and voice coach Ms. Josephine Harris of Fillion Studio School of Music.  In the hometown, she is noted for being this generation's "Mahalia Jackson."

Ruth now resides in Los Angeles , CA , is a faithful member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ under the anointed leadership of Bishop Charles E. Blake.  She is the Talk Show Host of Praises Incorporated a cable program designed to bring the gospel through songs; to encourage the redeemed ones; introduce new talent and to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord."  "Praises Incorporated with Ruth Andrea Featherstone," won the Gospel Entertainment Network's Best Traditional Gospel Program Award.  Ms. Featherstone was heard across the world on a syndicated radio broadcast, "Inspiration Across America," hosted by Bert Johnson. She made her first national television appearance on "Singsation" hosted by Vickie Winans. Ruth was also featured on the "Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel Explosion XI," a BET network program. In addition to her list of credits, Ruth made a guest appearance on Aaron Spelling's family drama series "Seventh Heaven."  She welcomed the delegates attending the Los Angeles 2000 Democratic National Convention singing her favorite song, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow." She ministered as the opening vocalist for internationally known speaker Dr. Myles Munroe at the International Christian Booksellers Association's convention. Just recently, Ruth was one of the top 15 finalists for the Gospel Music Channel Network Gospel Dream's - Detroit Region Talent Search. Currently, Ruth ministers with the Soldiers for the Second Coming Christ, under the leadership of Billy Davis, Jr. and Marilyn McCoo, formerly of the 5th Dimension. Ruth purpose in life is to give God the highest praise, lift up the name of Jesus, and evangelize the world through songs. God has anointed, appointed, and approved her for such a time as this.

A gifted fashion designer and seamstress, Ruth's company, Garments of Praise, specialize in designing clothes for God's chosen people.
